2017 Yamaha SCR950 Revealed - Back in April we saw the Star Motorcycles site was being diverted to Yamaha's site, and we broke news with an official reaction from Yamaha that its Star Motorcycles brand was being reabsorbed into Yamaha's road lineup now part into four portions: Sport, Super Sport, Sport Heritage, and Cruiser.
Yamaha notes there is some hybrid activity in the last two classes, with both camps acknowledging customization, agelessness, valid materials, motor character and social ways of life. While maturing Boomers and Gen Xers are moving to more agreeable and pragmatic baggers, Gen Y is burrowing on lighter and easier bistro racers and scramblers.
Yamaha's best cruisers generally have been the Bolts, and Yamaha is realizing further qualifications between the Bolt and Bolt R-spec. The R ($8,399) will keep up its present "game" situating, while the normal adaptation ($7,999) will get fortifications to its "ageless character," which for 2017 means new wire-talked wheels. Both Bolts get a pleasant update with another flangeless fuel tank (no terrible creases!) that holds an additional 1.2 liters. Additionally new for the 2017 Bolts, accessible in August, are "enhanced appearance wire guides."
I can't say much in regards to the wire guides, as I was excessively bustling looking at the new SCR950 to get some information about them. While the Bolts have a place in Yamaha's cruiser stable, the same stage in the SCR is opened into Yamaha's new Sport Heritage line. Correct, the SCR950 is basically a Bolt wearing scrambler garments.
Along these lines, we have the now-well known 60-degree air-cooled V-Twin uprooting 942cc, with its four valves for every chamber producing around 49 stallions to the back wheel. Likewise recognizable are the instrumentation, casing and suspension.
